Banana bunch cover :
chek  your banana plants fruit development.  After opening of last hand  of fruit cutt of the flower. then cover the bunch with polythene bag as below.
Cut the bottom seam off a large plastic garbage bag with scissors. Choose a clear bag if the bananas areprotected from sunlight by the plant’s leaves. If the fruits are exposed to strong direct sunlight, use an opaque white garbage bag.                                                                                                                                                                                Slide the plastic garbage bag up over all the banana bunches. Gather the end of the bag around the stalk just above the top bunch of fruit. Secure it to the stalk with a piece of string. Leave the bottom of the bag open to allow for air circulation. This also keeps the fruits from overheating inside the plastic covering.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Leave the protective cover in place until you harvest the final bunch of bananas.                                                     use  opaque  polythene covers  if bunch development is  during winter. use blue color bags during  summer to avoid sun scorch.
do it within 15 days of last hand opening
maturity of bunches willbe advanced by 7-10 days. the bunch is free from  pest and disease attackand also physical injuries. bunch quality and weight also improves.
